The Ohio women's golf team is seventh after the first day of competition at the Cardinal Classic on the campus of
Ball
State
University
. The Bobcats posted a team score of 326, 22 shots off the lead.
Ball
State
is first with a total of 304. The Bobcats are one shot ahead of fellow Mid-American Conference foe
Bowling Green
.
Ohio was led by sophomore Colleen Lienesch (
Centerville,
Ohio
) who fired a seven-over 78 on the 5,909 yard course. Freshman Erin Cahill (
Hilliard,
Ohio) was two shots back, while senior Katie Stafford (
Phoenix,
Ariz.) and freshman Jordan Fesh (
Toledo,
Ohio
) each posted 84s. Sophomore Lauren Bergman (
Blacklick,
Ohio
) rounded out the team with a 92.
Kameron Carter of Longwood, Sarah Prascsak of the
University of
Indianapolis and Rachael Pruett of
Ball
State
lead the individual competition with a three-over total of 74.
The second round is scheduled for a 9 a.m. shotgun start Monday.
