UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Ohio women's golf team turned in 36 holes Sunday at the Nittany Lion Invitational and sits in ninth place heading into Monday's final round.
Playing the 6,300-yard Blue Course at Penn State, the Ohio women compiled a team score of 652 with identical rounds of 326 on Sunday. The Bobcats will enter Monday's final round 10 strokes behind William & Mary and five ahead of Boston College.
Katie Stafford (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Lindsay Bergman (Blacklick, Ohio) led the way for the Bobcat women on Sunday with 36-hole scores of 162 which have them tied for 32nd in the field of 73 competitors. Stafford's best score on Sunday was a 79 in the second round while Bergman's best was an 80, also in the second round.
Erin Cahill (Hilliard, Ohio) was four strokes behind Stafford and Bergman in a tie for 43rd with a 166. Colleen Lienesch (Centerville, Ohio) and Lindsay's sister Lauren Bergman each posted 167s to round out Ohio's card. The later two are tied for 46th overall.
Princeton will take the team lead into Monday with a 604, 13 strokes ahead of Maryland. Princeton's Susannah Aboff also currently possesses the individual lead with a one-over 145, three shots in front of Western Michigan's Laura Bavaird.
The tournament will conclude Monday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
