COLUMBUS, Ohio - The women's golf team completed 36 holes at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational on Saturday at the Scarlet Course. The Bobcats will enter Sunday in 14th place with 18 holes left to play.
Competing in the 14-team tournament, hosted by Ohio State, the Bobcats currently sit in 14th place, four strokes behind Toledo. Ohio posted a 337 in the first round and a 333 in the second round, totaling a two round score of 670. Purdue is currently in 1st place with a two round total of 593.
Kristen Mautz (Upper Arlington, Ohio) led the Ohio effort through the first 18 holes with a 77, which had her tied for 13th overall heading into the second round. Mautz's 77 tied her best round of the year and she finished the second round with a 79. Mautz's two round total of 156 puts her in a four-way tie for 17th place.
Katie Stafford (Phoenix, Ariz.) finished her two rounds with a 168. Stafford's 83-85 placed her in a tie for 60th place.
Meredith Waterston (Bloomington, Minn.) and Lindsay Bergman (Blacklick, Ohio) came in third and fourth on Ohio's card on Saturday. Waterston shot a 173 tying her for 76th place and Lindsay Bergman shot a 178 putting her in a tie for 81st.
Colleen Lienesch (Centerville, Ohio) and Lauren Bergman (Blacklick, Ohio) also shot 36 holes on Saturday. Lienesch shot a 179 placing her in a tie for 83rd just one stoke behind Lindsay Bergman. Lauren Bergman shot a 181, which puts her in a tie for 85th.
Sunday's third and final round is scheduled to commence at 8:30 a.m., weather permitting.
