BATON ROUGE ? The Ohio softball team fell to 0-4 in the Purple and Gold Challenge hosted by Louisiana State University, dropping both games today. No. 12 LSU remains unbeaten in the three team round robin tournament, while Columbia is 2-2.

Ohio started the day with a 13-0 loss to host LSU but got its bats going in game two versus Columbia. The Bobcats recorded six hits in seven innings with the Lions but were unable to get across home plate, as they left eight runners on base. Freshman Michelle Sauter (Chehalis, Wash.), who pitched a complete game against Columbia, gave up two runs in the bottom of the fifth that would hold through the rest of the game, as the Lions picked up their second win of the season, 2-0.

The Bobcats will wrap-up the Purple and Gold Challenge tomorrow, starting the day with No. 12 LSU at 9 a.m. and will play Columbia to follow. The Bobcats return to Athens, Wednesday, for their first home game of the season versus UNC Greensboro. The first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
