2018: Played in seven games for the Bobcats this season…Played a season high 52 minutes in a 4-0 win against Northern Illinois (Oct. 18).

2017: Played in 18 games for the Bobcats, starting eight of them…Registered one goal and three assists for five points…registered six shots for a .167 shot percentage, with six of them on goal for a 1.000 shots on goal percentage…During conference play, she played in nine games starting one of them…scored one goal and had two assists for four points…Her first career goal and points came on Sept. 24 against Central Michigan…Registered her first career assist on Oct. 8 against Akron…Recorded an assist for Ohio on Oct. 19 at Bowling Green…Registered an assist on Ohio’s lone goal against Kent State on Oct. 29 in the MAC Tournament Quarterfinals.

Prior to Ohio: Kattainen was a regular member of the Finland U16, 17, 18 national teams. Kattainen was named assistant captain on the U16 Finnish National Team where the team earned a third place finish in the women’s Nordic Cup in 2013. She was also the region all-star match captain in 2014. While playing for her club team, FC Honka, she was Finnish Women’s Cup champion in 2015 and runner up in 2016. Kattainen played for Ilves club team in Finland under head coach Ville Väisänen. Kattainen also played for club teams HJS, VJS and FC Honka. Kattainen received various team accomplishments in her years playing club.

Personal: The daughter of Jari and Sirpa, Sara has two sisters, Mari and Katri. She plans on majoring in pre-med and aspires to become a doctor one day.
