Abby Garnett joined the Ohio women’s basketball staff as an Assistant Coach in September 2024.
In 2024-25, Garnett helped Watkins become an All-MAC Third Team honoree. Garnett and the rest of the staff helped the Bobcats achieve several individual milestones this season. Head coach Bob Boldon earned his 200th win at Ohio and Watkins achieved the 1,000 point milestone.
Garnett was a member of the Ohio women's basketball team from 2018-2023. During her time with the Bobcats, the program made three WNIT appearances and earned notable wins over Ohio State, Notre Dame, Pitt and Purdue. Garnett was also a part of the 2018-19 team that won a program-high 30 games. In her final season with Ohio, Garnett made 29 appearances with 27 starts, led the team in field goal percentage, three-point percentage and free-throw percentage. In total, she finished her collegiate career with 261 points and 173 rebounds.
Garnett returns to Athens after spending a couple of years in positions outside of the sports field. Most recently, she served as a recruiting consultant at Consilium Staffing in Dallas, Texas. While at Ohio, Garnett worked as a basketball coach/mentor and was a student social media coordinator with the MSM program.
Garnett earned her bachelor’s degree in 2022 and master’s degree in 2023 from Ohio University.
