    Volunteer Assistant Coach

TJ Lanning enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Ohio baseball program in 2021. 

Lanning joins Ohio from Olivet Nazarene University, where he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator from 2019-2021. Lanning’s coaching duties included overseeing the development of the outfielders, catchers & hitters. 

Prior to arriving at ONU, Lanning served as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with Toccoa Falls College in 2019. While at TFC, Lanning worked with the outfielders and catchers while assisting with the hitters. Lanning helped develop Jose Mendoza into being the first player from Toccoa Falls to sign a professional contract.

Lanning helped put together a memorable season with Tocco Falls, who made an appearance in the 2019 NCCAA World Series. TFC collected the most World Series wins (two) in Toccoa Falls College school history.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Lanning earned his Associate of Arts degree from Toccoa Falls College and his undergraduate degree in communications from Olivet Nazarene University.
