Biography
2023-24: Competed in ten meets…At the MAC Championships… Career-best in the 100 Y Back with a time of 55.37…Season-best time in the 50 Y Back with a time of 27.05…200 Y IM with a time of 2:06.58…Member of the Academic All-MAC Team.
2022-23: Competed in nine meets… Placed 14th in the 100-yard backstroke and 10th in the 200-yard backstroke with career-best times of 55.54 and 1:58.87, respectively, at the MAC Championships… Finished first in the 200-yard backstroke against Marshall and Miami… Named Academic All-MAC.
2021-22: Named to the Mid-American Conference Swimming and Diving Academic All-MAC team with a 3.706 cumulative GPA… Finished the 'B' final in eighth place, 16th overall, touching in at 56 seconds flat in the 100-yard backstroke on the final day of the MAC Championships… Placed eighth, 16th overall, in the 200-yard backstroke 'B' final, finishing the race in 2:03.77 at the MAC Championships.
2020-21: Made freshman debut against Youngstown State in the 50, 100, 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard IM… Posted career-best 50-yard backstroke time of 27.91 against Eastern Michigan… Earned 11 points at the MAC Championship with a 13th place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (55.93) and a 10th place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.42).
Prior to Ohio: Four-year varsity letter for swimming at Northridge High School under coach Rachel Furr… Captained the team for two years (2019/2020) … Named to All-Sectional team from 2016-2020… Made District team from 2017-2020… Member of the All-Ohio team in 2019-2020… Helped her team to a District Championship in 2019… 50, 100, and 200-yard freestyle record holder… Named High School Valedictorian (2020) … Member of Superintendents List from 2016-2020… Member of National Honors Society.
Personal: Born August 19th, 2002… Daughter of Jennifer and David Bunstine… Has a sister and brother, Josie and Wyatt… Both siblings attended Ohio State University… Enjoys spending time with her family and her three husky dogs… Favorite athlete is Joe Burrow… Favorite sports team is Ohio State Football… Plans to be a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
