
Deputy AD Amy Dean to Retire After 27 Years with Ohio Athletics

ATHENS, Ohio— Long-time administrator and current Deputy Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA), Amy Dean, is retiring. Her last day will be Friday, Aug. 28.

"Ohio Athletics is incredibly grateful for Amy and her time serving and supporting our student-athletes. It is evident she will leave a lasting impact on our programs," Director of Athletics Slade Larscheid said. "On behalf of the department, we wish Amy the absolute best as she and her family embark on their next chapter."

Dean has been a member of Ohio Athletics since 1999, holding multiple positions and overseeing a variety of departments across her tenure. Most recently, she's overseen multiple sports, athletic training, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, and facilities. Over her decade as the deputy athletics director and SWA, Amy has helped the department navigate personnel and policy changes.
"Over the past 27 years, I have been blessed with incredible relationships, exciting and meaningful memories, and countless rewarding opportunities through my time with Ohio Athletics. I am deeply grateful for the trust that was placed in me and the privilege of working with so many amazing people," Dean said. "I leave Ohio Athletics with a heart full of gratitude for what has truly been a wonderful and fulfilling career, and I will forever cherish the people, experiences, and memories that have shaped both my professional life and the lives of my family."
 Dean and her commitment to Ohio Athletics will be recognized during the Sept. 12 football game against Jacksonville State.
