ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – The Ohio Men's Golf team wrapped up the first round at the 2026 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Men's Golf Championships this afternoon (May 3). The Bobcats recorded a team score of 311 (+27), finishing the round in eighth place. Individually, seniors
Nathaniel Gray Lamont (Guelph, Ontario) and
Will Kates (Centennial, Co.) lead the green and white with rounds of 76 (+4), both in a tie for 12th place.
The tournament is hosted by Central Michigan University at The Club at Holliday Farms, a par-72 7,349-yard layout.
Eastern Michigan leads the tournament after the first day with a score of 288 (+4). The tournament is led by Northern Illinois' Patric Raupp, who shot a two-under 70, followed by three golfers who shot one-under 71.
Gray Lamont and Kates led the Bobcats with rounds of 76, each tying for 12
th place. Gray Lamont rebounded from a first nine 39 with an even par final nine holes, including a birdie on the par-five seventh. Kates shot 31-37 on his first and second nine, featuring birdies on the par four 14
th and eighth holes.
Freshman
Rylan Hall (Stratford, Ontario) finds himself in a tie for 36
th after an opening round 81, featuring birdies on the 10
th, 14
th, and 15
th holes.
Rounding out the scoring for the Bobcats was senior
Carson Trafford with an 82, good for a tie for 40th. Trafford recorded the most birdies (four) of any Ohio golfer in the first round.
Freshman
Jack Flores (Worthington, Ohio) find himself in a tie for 44
th with a round of 87 (+15).
The second round of the 2026 MAC Men's Golf Championships will resume tomorrow (May 4) at 9:00 a.m.
