AKRON, Ohio – Junior
Morgan Rodgers was named the 2026 Mid-American Conference Women's Golf Sportswoman of the Year award as Ohio finishes the final day of play at the MAC Championships at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.
The Sportswoman of the Year goes to a student-athlete whom players enjoy playing or conversing with; has a good rapport with her own team; is supportive of her own team, but also respects the competition; makes players feel comfortable to be around her; commands respect and esteem rather than merely being popular, and one would consider to be worthy of representing women's intercollegiate golf to others. Rodgers is the first Bobcat to win the award since Lily Pendy won in 2018.
Overall, Ohio finished in 10
th place after shooting a round 3 score of 308 (+28), ending the Championships with a final score of 922 (+82).
The hosts of Kent State take home their 27
th consecutive conference title after finishing the championships with an overall score of 831 (-9). Kent State's Veronika Kedronová was crowned MAC Champion with a score of 203 (-7).
Junior
Zoe Luebbers (Cincinnati, Ohio) stayed consistent throughout the entire tournament, being the top Bobcat all week, finishing tied 21
st overall. Luebbers shot a 75(+5) in round three, ending with an overall score of 222 (+12).
Freshman
Paige Treherne (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished behind Luebbers, tied 39
th with an overall score of 234 (+24). In round three, Treherne shot a 77 (+7), moving her two spots up into tied 39
th.
Sophomore
Ally Turner (Miamisburg, Ohio) moved up four spots from round two to finish the tournament tied 41
st. Turner finished round three with a score of 77 (+7), tallying an overall score of 235 (+25).
Rodgers (Centerville, Ohio) finished tied 43
rd overall after shooting a round three score of 79 (+9), ending with an overall score of 236 (+26).
Senior
Mackenzie McRee (Tucson, AZ) ends her career at the MAC Championships, finishing tied 45
th, moving up two spots from her round two finish. McRee shot a round three score of 79 (+9), ending with an overall score of 238 (+28).
Ohio ends its season at the MAC Championships and looks forward to returning to the green in the fall for the 2026-2027 season.
