Ohio Swim's DiBetta and Szoke Set for NCAA National Swim and Dive Championships

ATLANTA, Georgia – Ohio swimming senior Casadie DiBetta and junior Zita Szoke travel to Atlanta, Georgia, March 18-21 for the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by Georgia Tech University at the McAuley Aquatic Center. Szoke begins her week on Thursday, March 19, with the 200 free. She returns to the pool on Friday, March 20, for the 50 free, and on Saturday, March 21, with the 100 free. DiBetta opens her week on Thursday with the 100 breaststroke and finishes on Friday with the 200 breaststroke. Each day's prelims will begin at 10 a.m. ET, with finals beginning at 6 p.m. ET. Only the top eight swimmers in each event will move on to the finals that evening. All sessions can be streamed on ESPN+. 

This is the third-straight year that Szoke (Serbia, Becej) has punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships. Szoke currently holds the 30th-fastest time in the NCAA in the 100 free, after setting an Ohio pool, Mid-American Conference, and Mid-American Conference Championship record in the prelims of the MAC Championships with a time of 47.55. In the 50 free, Szoke is tied for 63-fastest in the NCAA with a time of 22.10, which set an Ohio record during her MAC Championship swim. In the 200 free, Szoke is tied for the 69th fastest in the NCAA with a time of 1:44.82.

DiBetta (St. Clairsville, Ohio) is headed to her first NCAA Championships after punching her ticket in the 200 breaststroke, with a time of 2:09.33, which is the 49th-fastest time in the NCAA. With her 200-yard breaststroke swim at the MAC Championships, DiBetta set an Ohio record and is the first breaststroke swimmer from Ohio to go to the NCAA Championships in 26 years. DiBetta holds the 55th-fastest time in the NCAA in the 100 Breaststroke, with a time of 59.78, which she accomplished at the MAC Championships, setting an Ohio record.

Szoke and DiBetta are coming off impressive MAC Championship performances, where Szoke was crowned a champion in the 100- and 200-yard freestyles, and DiBetta was crowned champion in the 200-yard breaststroke. Both DiBetta and Szoke were named First Team All-MAC for their efforts during the season.
