ATHENS, OHIO—The Ohio Bobcats wrestling team (6-11, 1-6 MAC) dropped a MAC dual meet to the Buffalo Bulls (4-11, 3-5 MAC) by a score of 22-16 on Saturday (Feb. 21).
Saturday night was also Senior Night, where Bobcat seniors Zayne Lehman, Garrett Thompson, Paul Woo, Sal Perrine, Dan Segura, Jack Lledo and Pierce Taylor were honored for their contributions to Ohio Wrestling.

Freshman Brayden Teunissen (Belvidere, Ill.) started the night strong for the Bobcats, fighting to a strong 6-2 win by decision over Buffalo's Zach Belverio. Tenuissen avoided giving up a takedown in the final period, which helped secure the win.

At 157 lbs, redshirt Junior Derek Raike (Point Pleasant, W. Va.) was the second wrestler to rack up a victory for the Bobcats at 157 lbs, following his explosive first period takedown. Raike followed it up with another takedown in the third period, getting to a 7-3 lead which he held onto until the final buzzer.

At 184 lbs, redshirt Senior Sal Perrine (Northfield, Ohio) put another win on the board for Ohio, winning by technical fall by 20-4 in the second period. His barrage of early takedowns got him to the early lead, and secured a bonus point and an eventual five points for Ohio.

Redshirt senior Zayne Lehman (Akron, Ohio) came out to a 12-1 lead at 197 lbs by the end of the second period, with favorability in riding time. He was able to secure an 19-2 win by technical fall with 1:19 left in the third period.  

Up next, the Bobcats will head to Buffalo, N.Y.'s Alumni Arena to battle in the MAC Tournament on March 6th and 7th. Ohio wrestlers will attempt to make bids toward the NCAA Men's Championships in Cleveland Ohio on March 19-21. Stay tuned to ohiobobcats.com for streaming and live stats information!
