FOOTBALL

The Ohio football team (3-2, 1-0 MAC) looks to stay unbeaten in the Mid-American Conference, taking on Central Michigan (3-2, 1-0 MAC) on Saturday, Oct. 3. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET at Peden Stadium and can be seen on ESPN+ with Jason Ross and Tyoka Jackson on the call. The Bobcats' matchup can also be heard on The Varsity Sports Network. Veteran Ohio radio personality Marty Bannister is reprising his role as Ohio's play-by-play broadcaster. Bannister will be joined by color analyst Rob Cornelius, who has been part of the broadcasts for more than two decades.   Â
This matchup marks the 37th time the two teams have clashed, with Ohio seeking to win their third straight against Central Michigan. The last time the Bobcats faced the Chippewas, Ohio came out victorious, 27-25.Â
Ohio is coming off a 13-10 defensive victory against Kent State to be 1-0 in Mid-American Conference play. Ohio's rush defense held Kent State to 49 yards on the ground, now giving up a combined 48 yards in the past two games. On offense, the Bobcats had 181 yards on the ground, nearly rushing for a combined 500 yards in the past two games. Special teams were the story of the game, with redshirt sophomore Caleb Chamberlin blocking a punt to get Ohio into scoring position, setting up graduate student Will Hryszko for his first field goal of the game. Junior quarterback Matt Vezza scored the Bobcat's lone touchdown with a career-high 35-yard rush for a 10-3 lead heading into halftime. After Kent State tied the game in the middle of the third quarter, Hryszko knocked down the game-winning field goal from 44 yards out. Individually, redshirt senior Jack Fries led Ohio's defense with 10 tackles, including seven solo stops. Redshirt senior linebacker Michael Molnar had a do-it-all performance once again, recording eight total tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack. Molnar recorded his first career interception along with two pass breakups.Â
Central Michigan is coming off a 41-17 victory against Akron for their first MAC win of the season. Quarterbacks Angel Flores and Jadyn Glasser combined for 149 yards through the air and two touchdowns in the win. On the ground, Flores led Central Michigan with 154 yards and one touchdown, while running back Jayden Clerveaux finished with one touchdown and 82 yards on the ground. Defensive back Justin Taylor led Central Michigan's passing defense with two breakups and an interception.Â

Ohio women's golf is back in action Oct. 5-6 for the 2026 Butler Fall Invitational hosted by Butler at the Highland Golf and Country Club in Indianapolis, Ind. On Monday, Oct. 5 is set to begin at 9 a.m. ET with 36 holes, before concluding on Tuesday, Oct. 6 with 18 holes scheduled for 9 a.m. ET.Â
Competing at this year's event are;Â Butler, Ohio, Austin Peay, Loyola Chicago, Indiana State, Akron, Northern Kentucky, Southern Indiana, Green Bay, Detroit Mercy, UIC, Western Illinois, Dayton and Tennessee State.Â
Competing for Ohio are seniors Zoe Luebbers and Morgan Rodgers, junior Ally Turner, sophomores Katie Husted and Paige Treherne and freshman Charlotte Soller.Â
Ohio last competed Sept. 20-21 at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich. where the Bobcats finished tied for ninth place.Â

Field hockey (6-4, 3-1 MAC) is back in action against two ranked opponents this weekend starting on Friday, Oct. 9 when Ohio heads to Oxford, Ohio to take no No. 14 Miami. First touch is set for 3 p.m. ET at the Miami Field Hockey Complex and can be seen on the Miami Athletics website.Â
Ohio is coming off a 2-0 week that saw the Bobcats defeat Central Michigan, 2-1 at home, before returning to Pruitt to defeat Mercyhurt, 14-0, on Senior Day.Â
No. 14 Miami is 7-4 overall and 3-1 in MAC play and is coming off a loss at MAC-leading UMass on Friday, before defeating New Hampshire on Sunday. Justina Intzes and Malena Sabez lead the RedHawks with six goals, one assist and 13 points. In goal, Nicky Sjouken has played in 10 games and has made nine starts, allowing 15 goals and making 22 saves for a .595 save percentage.Â
No. 13 Indiana is 8-3 overall and is coming off wins at Michigan State and Ohio State this past weekend. Molly Stutte leads Indiana with seven goals and seven assists and 21 points, while Celia Arroyo Cabezudo is next with six goals and three assists for 15 points. In goal, Sadie Canelli has played in 10 games and has made nine starts, allowing six goals and making 31 saves for a .838 save percentage.Â

Ohio volleyball (11-4, 4-0 MAC) will be back in action for a two-game conference series at Bowling Green (11-4, 3-1 MAC). The Bobcats will kick off competition with the Falcons on Friday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. ET. Both game will be available to watch on ESPN+.

Ohio is coming off an 1-0-1 week where the Bobcats finished with a 2-2 draw against Central Michigan on Thursday, before defeating Buffalo 1-0 Sunday on the road. Senior Jaimason Brooker leads Ohio with three goals, two assists and eight points, while freshman Meghan Cochrane adds three goals and six points. In goal, freshman Ayla Rammel has seen action on 10 matches and has made nine starts, allowing 16 goals and making 41 saves for a .719 save percentage.Â
Kent State is currently 2-8-2 overall and 1-4-0 in MAC play and are coming off loses to WMU and EMU last week. Samantha Miller leads the Flashes with three goals, one assist and seven points, while Lila Simon adds three goals and six points. In goal, Leah Shaffer has played in nine matches and made seven starts, allowing 14 goals and making 28 saves for a .667 save percentage.Â

Ohio wrestling fans will have their first look at the Ohio wrestling program this Saturday, Oct. 10 with their annual outdoor practice. The event is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. ET in Bicentennial Park. The event is free to the public.Â
SWIM AND DIVE

Ohio is coming off an opening weekend split of their tri-meet against Miami and North Florida in Coal Gables, Fla. The Bobcats defeated North Florida, 221.00-72.00 and fell to Miami,193.00-106.00.Â
In the 50 free,  senior Zita Szoke placed first in 22.92 and then followed that up by winning the 100 fly with a time of 54.40. In diving, senior Astrid Pichardo opened her season on fire, securing NCAA Zone cuts in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. Pichardo placed third in both, scoring 278.63 in the 1-meter and 315.90 in the 3-meter.
The Bobcats will be back in action October. 15-16 in Athens when they host Illinois State. Thursday's events are set to being at 5 p.m. ET, with Saturday scheduled for 10 a.m. ET.Â
MEN'S BASKETBALL
