CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – The Ohio Bobcats Wrestling team wrapped up day one of competition at the NWCA National Duals on Friday (Jan. 9), facing CSU Bakersfield, Drexel, and #17 Northern Iowa in Pool B.
 
The Bobcats opened the duals with a 25-13 defeat of CSU Bakersfield, leaning on strong performances from redshirt junior Derek Raike (Point Pleasant, W. Va.) and redshirt Seniors Sal Perrine (Nortlfield, Ohio) and Zayne Lehman (Akron, Ohio). Raike and Lehman both recorded technical fall wins, while Perrine pinned CSU Bakersfield's Jeremy Manibog less than two minutes into the match to secure six points for the Bobcats.
 
The Bobcats dropped their second Pool B match to Drexel 37-6. Jeremy Olszko (Northfield, Ohio) picked up a 5-1 decision victory over Drexel's Dom Findora, and Zayne Lehman (Akron, Ohio) picked up a decision victory over Drexel's Ibrahim Ameer.
 
Ohio dropped their final match of the day to #17 Northern Iowa, 43-0.
 
Up next, the Bobcats will return to the UNI Dome on Saturday (Jan. 10) to face conference foe Bloomsburg to wrap up Pool B competition, before facing an opponent to be announced. Competition will start at 11 a.m. and will be streaming on FloWrestling (subscription required).
