CLEVELAND -- Ohio women's basketball junior guard Bailey Tabeling was named the Mid-American Conference Female Scholar Athlete of the Week, the league announced today (Jan. 7). 

Tabeling (Seymour, Ind.) helped lead the Ohio women's basketball team to a 2-0 week this past week, helping the Bobcats open MAC play 2-0 for the first time since 2015-16.

Overall, Tabeling averaged 18.0 points a game, while going 14-of-24 (.583) from the field, 8-of-14 (.571) from three and averaged 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists a game.  

On Dec. 31 at CMU, Tabeling finished the game with 20 points, going 8-of-17 from the field, 4-of-9 from three, while grabbing three rebounds and three steals. Tabeling's biggest basket of the game was as time expired and she hit a three to tie the game and send it to overtime, leading the Bobcats to the 85-83 win. 

Tabeling was clutch again on Jan. 3 against Akron, leading Ohio with 16 points and four rebounds. She went 6-of-7 from the field, 4-of-5 from three and recorded one steal and one block in the 73-56 win.  
 
Tabeling and the rest of the Bobcats are back in action tonight (Jan. 7) when they take on Eastern Michigan in Athens. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET inside the Convocation Center and can be seen on ESPN+. Fans who would like to attend can purchase tickets here.
