Ohio Men's Basketball Back in Action At Buffalo on Saturday

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio men's basketball team (11-11, 5-5 MAC) is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 31 when they head to Buffalo, N.Y. to close out January when it takes on Buffalo (14-7, 4-5 MAC) inside Alumni Arena. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN+ where Paul Peck and Brian Koziol will have the call.

The Bobcats' matchup can also be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield, presented by Holzer Health System. Jason Toy begins his second season on the mic for the Bobcats and will be joined by veteran college basketball analyst Dave Cecutti. WXTQ (Power 105) in Athens returns as the 11-station net- work's flagship and can be heard on the Varsity Network App. 

TIP-OFF
This is the 61st all-time meeting between Ohio and Buffalo.

Ohio leads the all-time series, 40-20.

Ohio is 9-3 against Buffalo since Jeff Boals took over in 2019-20.

The two teams met on Jan. 10 in Athens, with the Bobcats winnings, 91-80.

Ohio is 11-11 overall and 5-5 in MAC play and are coming off a 72-57 loss at Kent State on Tuesday. 

Ohio is averaging 76.6 points a game, while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 30.2 percent from three and 69.1 percent from the line. The Bobcats also add 33.8 rebounds a game, while dishing out 13.0 assists and recording 7.0 steals a contest. Ohio is also forcing opponents to turn the ball over 13.2 times a game, scoring on average 15.5 points off them.

Aidan Hadaway led the Bobcats with a double-double, including 27 points and 10 rebounds. Jackson Paveletzke was also impressive, scoring 23 to aid another impressive shooting night for the Bobcats. Paveletzke was also impressive in creating scoring chances for his teammates, tallying eight assists. Three other Bobcats scored in double figures with JJ Kelly and Javan Simmons each going for 13 and senior guard Ajay Sheldon (Dublin, Ohio) going for 10.  

OHIO IN THE MAC
Senior guard Jackson Paveletzke is currently eighth in the conference in scoring (17.0), seventh in assists (4.6) and first in minutes (36.1). 

Senior forward Aidan Hadaway is seventh in the league in rebounding (7.1).

Senior guard Ajay Sheldon is sixth in the MAC in steals (1.6).

The Bobcats are currently ranked 231 in the latest NET rankings, with Buffalo ranked at 142

Miami leads the conference in NET this week at 51.
