ATHENS, Ohio— The latest Division 1 weight class rankings were released on Tuesday (Jan. 13), where four Bobcats are recognized among the best wrestlers in the country at their weight class.
The Bobcats went 2-3 this past weekend at the NWCA National Duals, defeating CSU Bakersfield and Bloomsburg, and dropping matches to Drexel, Northern Iowa, and Central Michigan.
After going 3-0 in Cedar Falls, redshirt Senior
Garrett Thompson (Murrysville, Pa.) returns to the 174 lb. rankings by Intermat and Flowrestling at 13
th and 14
th, respectively.
At 197 lbs, redshirt Senior
Zayne Lehman (Akron, Ohio) is ranked 25
th by Intermat, 23
rd by FloWrestling and 24
th by College Wrestling Report. Lehman had a strong performance over the weekend, going 4-0 at the NWCA National Duals. On Friday, Lehman picked up a 18-2 technical fall victory over CSU-Bakersfield's Chris Neal to help power the Bobcats to a victory, before picking up a decision win over Drexel's Ibrahim Ameer in his second match of the day. On Sunday, Lehman returned with a dominating 17-5 major decision victory over Bloomsburg's Coy Raines, and recorded another major decision victory (18-6) over Central Michigan's Luke Cochran.

- 157 lbs. – 27th/31st/18th: Redshirt junior Derek Raike (Point Pleasant, W. Va.)
- 174 lbs. – 13th/14th/11th: Redshirt Senior Garrett Thompson (Murrysville, Pa.)
- 184 lbs. – 18th/19th/18th: Redshirt senior Sal Perrine (Northfield, Ohio)
- 197 lbs. – 25th/23rd/24th: Redshirt senior Zayne Lehman (Akron, Ohio)
The Bobcats will return to the mat to face MAC foe SIU-Edwardsville at The Convo this Friday (Jan. 16). The match will start at 7 p.m., tickets are available on ohiobobcats.com. The match will also be streaming on YouTube.
