Ohio Men’s Basketball Announces Remainder of 2025-26 Schedule

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio men's basketball team has completed its 2025-26 schedule, head coach Jeff Boals announced today (Sept. 17). 

"Our non-conference schedule will provide great opportunities and high-level competition for our team," Boals said. "We will see many different styles of play that will help prepare us to compete for a MAC championship. Road trips to Louisville, Saint Mary's, our MTE in Daytona Beach vs. George Mason and our neutral court game in Cleveland against St. Bonaventure will allow us to compete against established, winning programs." 

Before the season begins, the Bobcats will head to Columbus, Ohio for an open exhibition on Sunday, Oct. 26. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. ET inside the Schottenstein Center. Tickets for this event will go on sale in the coming weeks and it will be seen on BIG+. 

The Bobcats open the season with the previously released MAC-SBC Challenge on Monday, Nov. 3 when the Bobcats host Arkansas State at 7 p.m. ET inside the Convocation Center. Arkansas State won 25 games last season before falling in the Sun Belt Tournament finals. The Red Wolves went on to compete in the 2025 NIT, advancing to the second round. 

Ohio is back in the Convo on Thursday, Nov. 6 to host another 20-win team from a year ago when Illinois State comes to Athens. Ohio fell in last year's matchup in Normal, Ill. 

The Bobcats then head west on Tuesday, Nov. 11 when they head to Moraga, Calif. To take on Saint Mary's. The Gaels won 29 games last season and earned an at-large bid to the 2025 NCAA Tournament where they advanced to the Second Round against Alabama. 

The Bobcats then head directly to Louisville, Ky. on Saturday, Nov. 15 to take on Louisville inside the Yum Center. The Bobcats are 3-10 all-time against Louisville and last saw them on Nov. 25, 2011, where Ohio fell to the then-seventh ranked Cardinals, 59-54 on the road. 

The Bobcats then return home for the first part of the 2025 Sunshine Slam when Ohio hosts Bethune Cookman on Wednesday, Nov. 19 inside the Convo.  Ohio then heads to Daytona Beach, Fla. Nov. 24-25 for the neutral court portion of the Sunshine Slam, opening the trip on Monday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. ET when they take on George Mason on CBS Sports Network. The Bobcats will then take on either Florida Atlantic or Loyola Marymount on Tuesday, Nov. 25 on CBS Sports Network. George Mason is coming off a 27-win season, while both the Patriots and Florida Atlantic competed in the 2025 NIT. 

Ohio is back in Athens for two-straight matchups starting on Wednesday, Dec. 3 against Maine, before hosting Marshall on Saturday, Dec. 6 inside the Convocation Center. Maine is coming off a 20-win season, advancing to the America East Championship game. Marshall is also coming off a 20-win season, with The Herd defeating Ohio in Huntington last December. 

Ohio heads to Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, Dec. 13 when they take on St. Bonaventure inside Rocket Arena for the Cleveland Hoops Showdown. St. Bonaventure is coming of a 22-win season and a trip to the NIT. Ohio and the Bonnies last met in the season opener of the 2019 season, where Ohio won 65-53 in Olean, N.Y. The victory was Boals' first win as the leader of the Bobcats. 

Ohio the returns to Athens on Tuesday, Dec. 16 to take on Ohio Wesleyan inside the Convo. 

After a quick break on Dec. 20 for the start of MAC play, Ohio is set to host Miami-Hamilton on Monday, Dec. 22. 

The final nonconference matchup of the season will happen on Saturday, Feb. 7 for the second matchup of the MAC-SBC Challenge that will take place at the SBC school. Matchups will be selected in January. 

The 2025-26 Mid-American Conference league schedule was released at the end of August and can be found here.
