IJAMSVILLE, Maryland– The Ohio Men's Golf team was back on the road for the Testudo Cup hosted by Maryland University April. 5-6 at the P.B. Dye Golf Course. The Bobcats finished ninth place with an overall score of 889 (+25), while Junior
Nathaniel Gray Lamont (Guelph, Ontario) placed 10th.
Maryland won the event, followed by Delware (-5), Virginia tech (+9) in third, FDU (+10) in fourth, and Mount St. Mary's (+11) rounding off in fifth.
As a team, Ohio opened the first round with a 296, concluded the second round with a 295 and closed out the tournament, the Bobcats shot a 298.
Individually, Gray Lamont (Guelph, Ontario) led the Bobcats recording rounds of 68 and 72 on day one, before finishing Sunday with a 76 for a total tournament score of 216 (E) and a five-way tie for 10th-place finish.
Junior
Carson Trafford (Dublin, Ohio) and junior
Will Kates (Centennial, Colorado)
were next, both in a tie for 42nd. Trafford shot a 77 and a low round of 73 on day one, finishing day two with a 75 for a total of 225 (+9). Kates finished nine-over, had scores of 78 and 76 with a low of 71 in the final round for an overall total of 225.
Senior
Matt Daulton (Lebanon, Ohio) finished 50th overall in a three-way tie. He opened the tournament with a 76, before shooting the second-round score of 74. He then finished the tournament with a 77, recording a total tournament score of 227 (+11). Senior
Sam Hogan (Burlington, Ontario) placed 59th (75+79+76=230) and finished 14-over.
The Bobcats will be back in action April 11-12 at the Buckeye Classic. The two day event is hosted by Ohio State at the Columbus Country Club in Columbus, Ohio.
