GROVE CITY, Ohio. – The Ohio Men's Golf team completed the second round of the 2025 Mid-American Conference Championships this afternoon (Apr. 28). The Bobcats moved up to eighth from ninth place. The team was led by an impressive performance from junior Nathaniel Gray Lamont (Guelph, Ontario) who shot a 74 (+2).
Overall, the Bobcats had an updated score of 598 (+22) as they slid ahead of Central Michigan, while Eastern Michigan overtook Northern Illinois for the lead with 15-under par.
Gray Lamont led the Bobcats in the second round, shooting a 74 (+2) with two birdies and a consistent run at par fours. He will enter tomorrow's final round as Ohio's final golfer of the Bobcats' five tee-times.
Junior Will Kates (Centennial, Colorado) and senior Matt Daulton (Lebanon, Ohio) finished the second round in a tie for 30th. Kates shot a 72 (E) with three birdies while Daulton finished with 71 (-1) after shooting an impressive three birdies himself.
Coming in 39th after the second day, junior Carson Trafford (Dublin, Ohio) who finished with an 73 (+1). Trafford has improved from the first day and is eager to finish the tournament strong.
Rounding out the performers for the second day of the tournament, senior Sam Hogan (Burlington, Ontario) who finished the second round with a 77 (+5) which was a significant improvement from day one.
Ohio will look to continue to climb the leader board tomorrow (Apr. 29) in the final round of the 2025 MAC Men's Golf Championships. The Bobcats will begin their round starting at 9:00 a.m.
