ATHENS, Ohio –Happy finals week, Bobcats! Ohio softball wraps up the regular season this week as they look to capture their first MAC Regular Season Championship since 2018! Check out everything that's ahead for Ohio Athletics in this week's Paw Prints.
MEN'S GOLF

The Ohio men's golf team heads to the 2025 Mid-American Conference Championships April 27-29. This year's event is hosted by Bowling Green at Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio. Pinnacle was host site for last year's women's championships. The par-72 course spans 7,462 yards is known for its breathtaking vistas and challenging design, offering stirs of emotions with every round. The course boasts a formidable USGA slope rating of 148, making it a true test for even the most skilled players.
The nine teams competing in this year's championships are: Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami, Northern Illinois, Ohio and Toledo.

The Ohio softball team (33-14, 16-5 MAC) wraps up the regular season this week with five games as they look to capture their first MAC Regualr Season title since 2018. The week begins on Tuesday, April 29 when Ohio hosts Ball State (29-14, 14-7 MAC) for a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. ET at the Ohio Softball Field and can be seen on ESPN+. Ohio then heads to Kalamazoo, Mich. for the final regular season series against Western Michigan (13-34, 7-15 MAC) May 3-4. The weekend begins on Saturday, May 3 with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. ET. The weekend concludes on Sunday, May 4 at Noon ET. All three games will be streamed on the WMU website.
Ohio is coming off a 2-2 week that saw the Bobcats take a three-game series with Central Michigan. Redshirt junior
Skipp Miller went 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA in two starts, tossing two complete games and one shutout. in 14 innings, Miller allowed two runs on 13 hits, walked three and struck out seven. At the plate against CMU, sophomore
Brenna Farmer hit .545 with six hits, one double, two RBI and scored on run, while recording a .636 slugging percentage and a .583 on base percentage.
Ball State is currently, 29-14 overall and 14-7 in MAC play. The Cardinals are coming off a 1-3 week that saw Buffalo take a three-game series from Ball State. Western Michigan is 13-34 overall and has a 7-15 mark in MAC play. The Broncos are coming off a series win over Kent State last weekend and will battle with NIU on Tuesday before hosting Ohio.
TRACK AND FIELD

Ohio track and field is back in action this week as they wind down the regular season May 23 when they head to Columbus, Ohio for the Jesse Owens Classic. The two-day event will take place at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Friday's events will begin at Noon ET, with Saturday's events set for 10 a.m. ET.
Ohio is coming off a successful weekend at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invite in Louisville last weekend. The major was senior Taja Booker's performance in the women's 200m. Booker ran a personal-best time of 23.95, recording the second-fast outdoor time in program history. Sophomore Emilee Baumann (Powell, Ohio) was one of Ohio's top performers in the women's pole vault. Baumann placed second in Flight C (3.51m/11-6.25) with the fourth-best outdoor mark in program history.

The Ohio baseball team (10-32, 5-16 MAC) is back on the road for a weekend of MAC play when they head to Akron, Ohio May 2-4 to take on Akron (14-29, 7-17 MAC) at Skeeles Field. The weekend begins on Friday, May 2 at 2 p.m. ET, before continuing on Saturday, May 3 at 1 p.m. ET. The series wraps up on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Friday and Sunday's games will be streamed on ESPN+, while there will not be a stream on Saturday.
Ohio is coming off a win against Miami on Saturday in Athens.
Akron is currently 14-29 overall and 7-17 in MAC play. The Zips are coming off a series loss at Kent State last weekend and will take on Pitt in Akron on Tuesday before hosting the Bobcats.
