Ohio Football Announces Complete 2025 Schedule

CLEVELAND— The Ohio football program released its 2025 regular season schedule today (March 5) in conjunction with the Mid-American Conference office.

The Bobcats' 12-game slate features six games at Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium, including four Saturdays. Notably, Ohio is set to host both West Virginia and Miami (Ohio). 

Television platforms, along with game times, will be announced at a later date. 

2025 OHIO FOOTBALL SCHEDULE 

Saturday, Aug. 30: at Rutgers (SHI Stadium) 
Notable: The Bobcats and the Scarlet Knights have met three times since 1937, posting a 1-2 record. Under Don Peden, Ohio defeated Rutgers 13-0 in 1937. The two teams last met in 2011. After the Bobcats evened the score to close the first quarter, the Scarlet Knights surged ahead to put the final score at 38-26. 
 
Saturday, Sept. 6: vs. West Virginia (Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium)
Notable: The Bobcats and the Mountaineers have met 16 times since 1897, posting a 4-12 record. The two programs last faced off in 2001; Ohio fell, 20-3. The Mountaineers' last trip to Athens was in 1949. 
 
Saturday, Sept. 13: at Ohio State (Ohio Stadium) 
Notable: This matchup marks the Bobcats' and the Buckeyes' eighth time meeting since 1899. Ohio is 0-6 in the series. 
 
Saturday, Sept. 20: vs. Gardner-Webb (Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium) 
Notable: The Bobcats and the Runnin' Bulldogs have met three times since 2007, posting a 3-0 series record. The two teams last went toe-to-toe in 2016; Gardner-Webb evened the score in the first quarter, but Ohio surged ahead to win, 37-21.  
 
Saturday, Sept. 27: vs. Bowling Green (Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium)
Notable: The Bobcats and the Falcons have met 75 times since 1945, posting a 32-41-2 record. Ohio last met Bowling Green in 2023; the Bobcats' dominant 38-7 victory marked their first MAC victory of the season and was highlighted by linebacker Keye Thompson's 71-yard fumble recovery. 
 
Saturday, Oct. 4: at Ball State (Scheumann Stadium)
Notable: The Bobcats and the Cardinals first met in 1975 and have a series record of 13-15. The two teams closed the 2024 season at Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium; the solid 42-21 victory punched Ohio's ticket to the 2024 MAC Championship. Additionally, wide receiver Coleman Owen became the third Bobcat in program history to tally 1,000 receiving yards in a single season.  
 
Saturday, Oct. 18: vs. Northern Illinois (Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium)
Notable: This matchup marks the Bobcats' and the Huskies' 26th time meeting since 1968 and the final time the pair will face-off as conference opponents; the series record is 11-14 overall; the last time the teams met in 2023, Ohio fell, 23-13. 
 
Saturday, Oct. 25: at Eastern Michigan (Rynearson Stadium)
Notable: The Bobcats and the Eagles have met 34 times since 1976, boasting a 21-12-1 record. The two teams last met in 2024 when Ohio logged a 35-10 victory on their road to Detroit. Cornerback Tank Pearson snagged two interceptions while defensive end Ben McNaboe was responsible for one pick; quarterback Parker Navarro scored four of Ohio's five touchdowns, earning MAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades. 
 
Tuesday, Nov. 4: vs. Miami (Ohio) (Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium)
Notable: Meeting twice in 2024, the Bobcats and the RedHawks have posted a series record of 43-56-2 since their first face-off in 1908. Ohio fell short in the 100th Battle of the Bricks (Oct. 19) but bounced back to make history in Detroit as the two teams met in a conference championship for the first time. Ohio's 38-3 victory not only marked the program's first MAC Championship since 1968 but the largest margin of victory in a MAC Championship as well as the first time a team has been held to no touchdowns in a Championship game. 
 
Tuesday, Nov. 11: at Western Michigan (Waldo Stadium) 
Notable: The Bobcats and the Broncos have met 66 times since 1939, posting a 32-33-1 overall record. Ohio maintained its lead the entire game when the two last met in 2023, securing a 20-17 lead at Frank Solich Field. Running back Sieh Bangura scored one of Ohio's two touchdowns on the day.  
 
Tuesday, Nov. 18: vs. UMass (Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium) 
Notable: The Bobcats are 4-0 against the Minutemen, meeting four times from 2012-18. This matchup marks the first time the programs will face-off following  UMass's return to the MAC. En route to the Bobcats' 58-42 victory in Athens in 2018, quarterback Nathan Rourke rushed for a career-high 189 yards, scoring one touchdown, while running backs Maleek Irons and A.J. Ouellette accounted for the other three rushing touchdowns. 
 
Friday, Nov. 28: at Buffalo (UB Stadium) 
Notable: The Bobcats and the Bulls have met 30 times since 1949, boasting a 19-11 overall record. Ohio hosted Buffalo for the last Saturday game of the regular season, celebrating the seniors as well as NFF College Football Hall of Fame honoree Frank Solich with a dominant 47-16 victory.  Defensive end Kadin Schmitz picked off Buffalo's two-point conversion attempt in the third quarter, taking the two points for the Bobcats after a quick 100-yard dash, and linebacker Shay Taylor rounded out the day with a pick six.
