ATHENS, Ohio — With the NFL preseason nearing its conclusion, five former Ohio football players are competing for roster spots and opportunities across the league.

Here's a look at the Bobcats in the NFL heading into the final week of the preseason.

Jacoby Jones | Wide Receiver | Washington Commanders
Friday, Aug. 28 | 6 p.m. ET | at Baltimore Ravens
Jones enters the final week of the preseason competing for a spot in Washington's wide receiver room. The former Bobcat (2022-23) and the Commanders travel to Baltimore Friday night.
Will Kacmarek | Tight End | Miami Dolphins
Friday, Aug. 28 | 7 p.m. ET | at Atlanta Falcons
Kacmarek, a 2026 third-round selection by Miami, enters his first NFL season after spending time at Ohio (2021-23) before transferring to Ohio State. The tight end and the Dolphins will close the preseason Friday night.
Coleman Owen | Wide Receiver | Indianapolis Colts
Saturday, Aug. 29 | 1 p.m. ET | vs. Detroit Lions
Owen continues his push for a roster spot with the Colts heading into the final preseason game. The wide receiver and Indianapolis will host the Lions Saturday afternoon. Although only in Athens for the 2024 season, Owen made his mark by becoming the leading single-season receiver and just the third Bobcat in program history to tally over 1,000 receiving yards in a season.Â
Roman Parodie | Cornerback Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Friday, Aug. 28 | 7:30 p.m. ET | at Jacksonville Jaguars
Parodie has made an impact during the preseason for Tampa Bay, including recording an interception against Kansas City. The former Bobcat (2020-24) and the Buccaneers travel to Jacksonville for their preseason finale.
Anthony Tyus III | Running Back | Carolina Panthers
Friday, Aug. 28 | 7 p.m. ET | vs. Houston Texans
Tyus continues to compete for a roster spot in Carolina after joining the Panthers as an undrafted free agent. The running back and the Panthers will host the Texans in their preseason finale. The 2024 Second Team All-MAC honoree joined the short list of 1,000-yard rushers in his one season with Ohio, averaging 93.5 yards per game.Â
