ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio women's basketball team (2-1, 0-0 MAC) earned a 76-60 victory over Morehead State (1-2, 0-0 OVC) on Thursday, Nov. 13 in the Convocation Center.
Ohio shot 35.3 percent from the field, 20.7 percent from the arc and 75.9 percent from the line. The Bobcats tallied 52 rebounds, 10 assists, 15 steals and two blocks. Ohio forced Morehead State to give up 22 turnovers, tallied 22 points off turnovers and 18 fast break points.

Aliah McWhorter (Cincinnati, Ohio) matched her career high with 18 points; finishing 6-for-10 from the field and 6-for-8 from the line. McWhorter added four rebounds and one steal. Two more Bobcats finished with double figure points. Junior
Bailey Tabeling (Seymour, Ind.) recorded 15 points and sophomore
Gigi Bower (Powell, Ohio) added 13 points. Tabeling also recorded a team-high five assists.

Asiah Baxter (Indianapolis, Ind.) led the team in rebounding with a career-high nine rebounds. Sophomore
Danni Scully (Park Ridge, Ill.) matched her career high for rebounds with a total of eight. Tabeling and redshirt sophomore
Bella Ranallo (Lake Forest, Ill.) finished with six rebounds each, marking a new career best for Ranallo.

Ohio started the game with a 12-3 scoring run. In just one quarter, Ohio forced eight turnovers with six steals. Opportunities at the free throw line made a difference as well. Ohio finished 4-for-4 at the line while Morehead State didn't shoot a single free throw. The Bobcats led the Eagles 16-10 after the end of the first quarter.
The score remained close throughout the first part of the second quarter. The Bobcats pulled away from the Eagles with a 14-0 scoring run. At the half, Ohio led Morehead State 37-18.
The Eagles challenged the Bobcats during the third quarter. Morehead State outscored Ohio 28-15; shooting 68.8 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from the arc. Despite giving up a substantial lead and five turnovers, the Bobcats remained resilient. At the end of the third quarter, Ohio maintained a 52-46 lead over Morehead State.
The Eagles came within three points of the Bobcats in the start of the fourth quarter. Ohio turned it around, going on a 9-0 scoring run and extending its lead to 66-54 with 3:38 left in the game. The Bobcats continued to be successful on both sides of the court. Ohio scored eight points and held Morehead State to only three points in the final two and a half minutes of the final quarter. Ohio went to on win the game, defeating Morehead State 76-60.
The Bobcats will be back in action at Xavier on Thursday, Nov. 20. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. ET and the game will be available to watch on ESPN+.
