ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio softball team added six athletes to its roster during the 2026 early signing period, head coach Jenna Hall announced November 12. Joining the Bobcats for the 2026-27 season is Aubrey Leugers, Bennie Leffler, Brenna Fyffe, Brenna Tibbs, Ellery Housand and Kara Lint.
"I am extremely excited to announce our signing class of 2026. This group carries a level of athleticism that will raise our team to another level on the field," Ohio coach Jenna Hall said. "They are all leaders within their own teams, coachable, and believe in what Ohio Softball is all about. Kara Lint and Brenna Tibbs will be a great addition to the bullpen with their elite-level spin and command on the mound. Brenna Fyffe is a two-way player as a catcher as well as a middle infielder and will bring confidence wherever she is on the field. Aubrey Leugers and Bennie Leffler are two strong and powerful bats that I am excited to mix into our lineup. And to round it out, we have Ellery Housand, who is a highly skilled outfielder and a consistent bat at the plate."
Aubrey Leugers
A native of Franklin, Indiana, Leugers comes to Ohio after earning four varsity letters at Franklin Community High School, where she played shortstop. During her high school Career, Leugers set school records for RBI, home runs and triples. Leugers was selected to the All-County Team in both 2023 and 2024 before earning team MVP during the 2025 season. Leugers was also a two-time varsity letter winner in basketball at Franklin Community High School. Academically, she is a two-time winner of the all-academic award and a member of the national honors society.
Off the field, Leugers enjoys golfing and spending time with her friends and family. Aubrey is the daughter of Kiley and Brandon Leugers and has one brother, Alex, who currently plays football for Marian University. At Ohio, Leugers plans to study Nursing with a minor in Psychology.
Bennie Leffler
Leffler, a first baseman from Indianapolis, Indiana, comes to Ohio from Roncalli High School, where she earned three varsity letters for softball and won two conference championships. During her junior season at Roncalli, Leffler played in 29 games while amassing a batting average of .425 with 31 RBI and seven home runs. In that season, Leffler was selected to the All-Marion County team and Third-Team Central Indiana All-USA. Leffler also played for several club teams throughout high school.
Leffler enjoys playing pickleball, reading, swimming, playing with her dogs and being around her friends and family. Bennie is the daughter of Nate and Ali Leffler. Her mother, Ali played softball for Indiana University from 1992 to 1994 while her father played football at Ball State University from 1991-1995. Bennie's brother, Aidan, currently plays football for Ball State. She also has two sisters, Scout and Elliot Leffler.
Brenna Fyffe
A two-way player at catcher and middle-infield, Fyffe comes to Ohio after four years playing softball at Kenton Ridge High School in Springfield Ohio. In 2024, Fyffe earned Second-Team All-State honors after leading her team to a state championship and breaking the school record for both RBI and triples. In 2023, Fyffe was First-Team All-State while winning Kenton Trail Player of the Year. As a freshman in high school, Fyffe hit for a career high .549 batting average which is top five in her schools program history. Fyffe is also a record holder for soccer where she earned four varsity letters and captained the team from 2024-25.
Brenna is the daughter of Chad and Brandy Fyffe, who each participated in collegiate diamond sports. Her father Chad played baseball at Shawnee State University from 1995 to 2000 and her mom, Brandy, played softball at Shawnee State from 1997-2001. She has three brothers, Chase, Logan and Colton. Logan is currently a member of the Missouri State baseball team while Chase swims for Youngstown State. In her free time Fyffe enjoys doing crafts and being with her family.
Brenna Tibbs
Tibbs is another All-Ohio player that will join the Bobcats. A pitcher from Willow Wood, Ohio, Tibbs attended Symmes Valley High School. As a junior, Tibbs was named First Team All-Ohio after winning pitcher of the year in the Southern Ohio Conference. Tibbs is a two time conference champion after amassing a total of 500 strikeouts in her career. She also played six years of club baseball in Ohio.
Brenna is the daughter of Dallas and Deon Tibbs and has six siblings. In her free time, Tibbs enjoys graphic design. At Ohio, Tibbs plans to major in Education with hopes of becoming a teacher. Her favorite team is the Cincinnati Bengals and her favorite athlete is Sam Landry.
Ellery Housand
A native of San Diego, California, Housand will join the Bobcats as an outfielder. Housand attended Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego where she captained the softball team in 2025 and 2026. Housand is a three-time all-league player while also earning all-state honors in California following the 2025 season. As a junior, Housand hit for a career high .529 batting average. Academically, Housand is a four year honor role recipient.
Outside of softball, Housand enjoys hiking, going to the beach and baking. Her favorite teams are the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Chargers and her favorite athlete is Manny Machado. Ellery is the daughter of Jill and Darren Housand and has one brother, Carson. Her mom, Jill, played division one volleyball at George Washington University.
Kara Lint
A native of Dover, Ohio, Lint comes to Ohio as a pitcher after earning three varsity letters at Dover High School. In 2025 Lint helped her team to a Division III state championship. In 2024, Lint earned East Division Player of the Year and First-TeamAall-Ohio. During the 2024 season, Lint tallied 201 strikeouts with a 0.59 ERA across 94 ? innings pitched. Lint also participated in club softball in Ohio for five seasons.
Kara is the daughter of Marissa and Williams Lint and has two sisters, Mackenzie and Abby. In her free time, Lint enjoys baking and coloring. Lint participates in her high schools orchestra where she plays the viola. Lint also has a pet tortoise named speedy.
"Combined, they make a great class of talent and leadership that I know will impact us early in their careers," Hall said. "Being a Bobcat is a special thing, and all of them understand what it means to wear the arch Ohio across their chest."
