MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Ohio men's basketball team (7-6, 1-0 MAC) is back in action for more MAC play this week. The Bobcats' week starts on Tuesday, jan. 7 when Ohio heads to Buffalo, N.Y. to take on Buffalo (5-8, 0-1 MAC). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside Alumni Arena and can be seen on ESPN+. The Bobcats then return to Athens on Saturday, Jan. 11 to host Northern Illinois (4-9, 0-1 MAC). Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. inside the Convocation Center and can be seen on ESPN+. The game is apart of a men's and women's basketball doubleheader, with Ohio women's basketball playing after the men's game.
Ohio is coming off a 2-0 week that saw the Bobcats pick up a home win against Muskingum and a MAC-opener victory over Central Michigan on Saturday in Mount Pleasant. Against CMU, redshirt sophomore guard AJ Brown led Ohio with 15 points, going 4-of-7 from three, while grabbing four offensive boards and recording two steals.
Buffalo enters the matchup with Ohio with a 5-8 record and an 0-1 mark in MAC play after falling to Miami, 93-79 on the road on Saturday. Northern Illinois comes to Athens with a 4-9 mark and a 0-1 record in MAC play after falling to Eastern Michigan, 75-71, on the road on Saturday. NIU will take on Kent State at home on Tuesday before heading to Athens.

Ohio women's basketball (3-9, 1-1 MAC) is back in action for two more MAC games starting on Wednesday, Jan. 8 when the Bobcats head to Kalamazoo, Mich. to take on Western Michigan (4-8, 1-1 MAC). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside University Arena and can be seen on ESPN+. The Bobcats then return to Athens on Saturday, Jan. 11 when Ohio takes on Kent State (9-5, 2-0 MAC). Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. ET inside the Convocation Center and can be seen on ESPN+. The game is the second game of a men's and women's basketball doubleheader in Athens.
Ohio is coming off a 1-1 week to open MAC play last week, falling to Akron at home, before defeating Northern Illinois, 71-55, in DeKalb on Saturday. Sophomore Bailey Tabeling was a major offensive force for Ohio, scoring a career-high 28 points for the Bobcats. Tabeling finished 11-for-23 from the field and 6-for-16 from the arc. Senior Kennedi Watkins also had an impressive 17 points for Ohio; shooting 8-for-15 from the field. Senior Kate Dennis made a career-high four three-pointers and tallied a total of 14 points.
WMU enters the matchup with Ohio with a 4-8 record and a 1-1 mark in MAC play. The Broncos are coming off a 57-51 loss at home against Miami on Saturday. Kent State comes to Ohio with a 9-5 record overall and a 2-0 mark in MAC play. The Flashes are coming off am 82-73 win over Buffalo on Sunday at home and will take on Toledo on the road on Tuesday before heading to Athens on Saturday.
DIVING
Jan. 9-11 / at Buffalo Diving Invite / Buffalo, N.Y. / Alumni Arena Natatorium / 11 a.m. ET
The Ohio diving squad returns to action after the winter break Jan. 9-11 at the 2025 Buffalo Diving Invitational. The three-day event will take place in Buffalo, N.Y. at the Alumni Arena Natatorium with Thursday anf Friday set to start at 11 a.m., with the final day on Saturday scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
The last time the diving team saw action was Nov. 22-24 at the 2024 TYR '85 Invite in Lynchburg, Va. Sophomore Astrid Pichardo placed first in the 3-meter event, finishing with a score of 305.50. Senior Sophie Cooper placed fifth (235.55) and sophomore Stephanie Balthaser placed sixth with a score of 226.80. In the 1-meter dive, Pichardo placed second with a score of 261.65, while sophomore Savanna Bos (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished seventh with a score of 217.20.
TRACK AND FIELD

The Ohio track team continues the indoor season on Friday, Jan. 10 when the Bobcats head to Bowling Green, Ohio for the 2025 Falcon Early Bird Open hosted by Bowling Green inside Perry Field House. Field events are set to begin at 4 p.m., with throws events scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
A handful of the Bobcats last competed on Dec. 7 at the Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
WRESTLING

Thw Ohio wresting team (4-2, 2-0 MAC) are back in action Jan. 10-11 at the 2025 Mid Major National Duals. The two-day event will take place in Cedar Falls, Iowa at the UNI Dome on the campus of Northern Iowa. The teams competing at the National Duals are: California Polytechnic Institute, California State University–Bakersfield, Central Michigan University, Drexel University, George Mason University, Ohio University, Sacred Heart University, South Dakota State University, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, University of Arkansas Little Rock, University of Northern Colorado, University of Northern Iowa, University of Pennsylvania, University of Wyoming.
Ohio is coming off a 24-14 victory over Cleveland State at home on Jan. 3. Redshirt junior Garrett Thompson showed his power on the mat in the 174-pound bout, defeating Ronald Dimmering in the third period with a 17-1 technical fall. Redshirt sophomore Derek Raike followed with a dominant performance in the 149-pound bout, where he pinned Connor Saylor in the first period, clocking in at just 1:09.
