FARMVILLE, Va. – The Ohio field hockey team (4-5, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) earned its first MAC win of the season after it defeated Longwood 2-1 in a shootout.
The Bobcats fell behind in the first quarter after Jane Ramsay snuck a goal in for the Lancers. However, the Bobcats' defense made haste to keep the Lancers off the board the rest of the match.
Ohio's lone goal in regular time came from senior midfielder Noa Desmaretz (Antwerp, Belgium). She knocked in her second goal of the season in the middle of third quarter on a redirected penalty corner.

Junior back Emily Risser (Palmyra, Pa.) made the first shot for Ohio after Ramsay missed for Longwood. The score remained the same after both Longwood and Ohio missed in the second round of the shootout.
