MUNCIE, Indiana – The Ohio field hockey team fell to Stanford on Friday, Aug. 30 to the tune of 4-1.

The Cardinal attacked early with a goal by Allison Kuzyk in the fifth minute. However, the Bobcats made quick work to keep the Cardinal off the board in the rest of the first quarter.

Ohio stayed strong against Stanford through the second quarter. Graduate student goalie Macy Lotze (Louisville, Ky.) recorded a handful of saves before Star Horlock snuck one in for Stanford's second goal of the afternoon. A few minutes later, Scout Butler added to the total.

The Bobcats came back from halftime with renewed energy. Just over 30 seconds into the third quarter, sophomore forward Natalie LaFleur (Fredricksburg, Va.) knocked in Ohio's first goal.

From there, Ohio turned up its attack and sent a barrage of shots toward Stanford, however it could not find the back of the net. Stanford, on the other hand, scored its fourth and final goal near the end of the quarter.

Neither team put up a goal in the fourth quarter despite taking a variety of shots.

Ohio will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 11:30 a.m. against UAlbany in Columbus, Ohio.
