Ohio Football Set to Open 2024 Season at Syracuse

ATHENS, Ohio— The Ohio football team (0-0) is set to open the 2024 season on the road against Syracuse (0-0) on Aug. 31. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, N.Y. The game can be seen on ACCN with Chris Cotter, Mark Herzlich and Coley Harvey on the call.  

The Bobcats' matchup can also be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield, presented by Holzer Health System. Veteran Ohio radio personality Marty Bannister is stepping into the 2024 play-by-play role and will be joined by Rob Cornelius, who has been a part of the broadcasts for two decades.  

SERIES HISTORY VS. SYRACUSE 
The Bobcats have met the Orange three times since 1916 and hold a series record of 0-3. 

Ohio and Syracuse last met in Athens for the Bobcats' 2021 season opener. Syracuse steadily built their lead, scoring in each quarter. The Bobcats scored with three field goals from kicker Stephen Johnson, ultimately falling 29-9.
