ATHENS, Ohio – The Bobcats are back in action this week, with soccer looking to pick up win number one on the road, while field hockey and volleyball each with one more tune-up before the season begins next week. Check out everything that's ahead for Ohio Athletics in this week's Paw Prints.Â
SOCCER

The Ohio soccer team (0-0-1) is back in action for their second match of the 2024 season when the Bobcats head to Highland Height, Ky. on Tuesday, Aug. 20 to take on Northern Kentucky (0-1-0). First touch is set for 7 p.m. at the NKU Soccer Stadium. Ohio is back in action on Sunday, Aug. 25 when they head to East Lansing, Mich. for a rematch of Ohio's NCAA First Round matchup when they take on Michigan State (1-0-0). First touch is set for 1 p.m. inside DeMartin Stadium and can be seen on BTN+.Â
NKU opened the season on Aug. 15 at Western Michigan, falling 3-0. Michigan State opened the season with a 2-1 win over Notre Dame on the 15th and will be coming off a Thursday matchup with Arkansas before welcoming Ohio to town.Â
Ohio is coming off an opening night 1-1 draw at Butler on Aug. 15. In the game, junior Rayann Pruss (Perrysburg, Ohio) led Ohio with a goal on two shots on goal. Graduate student Isabella Ginocchi (Powell, Ohio) added two shots, with one on goal, while freshmen Anna Burchett(Prestonburg, Ky.) and Iro Fakinou (Athens, Greece) both added one shot with one on goal. In net, junior Celeste Sloma (Columbus, Ohio) got the start and did not allow a goal in 45 minutes, while making seven saves. Graduate student Molly Piso (Hermitage, Pa.) entered goal in the second half and finished off the final 45 minutes, allowing one goal while making three saves.Â
FIELD HOCKEY
Aug. 19 / at Ohio State (Scrimmage) / Columbus, Ohio / Buckeye Varsity Field / 3 p.m. ETÂ
The Ohio field hockey team is pack on the field Monday afternoon for their lone tune-up of the preseason. The Bobcats head to Columbus, Ohio on Aug. 19 to take on Ohio State at 3 p.m. for a scrimmage at Buckeye Varsity Field.Â
VOLLEYBALL
Aug. 21 / vs Cleveland State (Scrimmage) / Athens, Ohio / Convocation Center / 5 p.m. ET Â
Aug. 24 / VolleyFest / Athens, Ohio / Convocation Center / 5-8 p.m. Â
Ohio volleyball will host their lone scrimmage on Wednesday, Aug. 21 against Cleveland State. First serve is set for 5 p.m. inside the Convocation Center. The event is free to all fans.Â
Ohio volleyball then returns to the Convo on Saturday, Aug. 24 for VolleyFest. The event is free to all fans and students. The event will run from 5-8 p.m. in the Convocation Center. The event will include an open practice with a scrimmage, team interactions, autographs and post-practice tours of the volleyball facilities.Â
