Women's Basketball Adds Wake Forest Transfer, Aliah McWhorter, to Roster

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio women's basketball team has added transfer Aliah McWhorter to the roster for the 2024-25 season, head coach Bob Boldon announced on Wednesday, May 1.

McWhorter joins the Bobcats after spending four seasons at Wake Forest University. The Cincinnati, Ohio native did not see action for two seasons due to injury. She played in 19 games and made one start for the Demon Deacons. During the 2023-24 season, McWhorter appeared in 14 games, made one start versus North Carolina (2/18) and tallied 45 total minutes on the court.
 
Prior to Wake Forest, McWhorter scored over 1,000 points in her career playing at Sycamore High School. In 2020, she was named an Ohio All-State selection and was a Second Team All-Southwest Ohio District honoree while averaging 14.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. McWhorter was selected for the All-Greater Miami Conference First Team as a junior and senior. She also helped Sycamore to the semifinals of the Princeton 1 Sectional in the 2019 state tournament. McWhorter ended her high school career as Sycamore's all-time leader in blocked shots.
 
McWhorter is the daughter of Kevin and Mary McWhorter and has one sibling, Ariel.
