ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio women's basketball team has added transfer Anyssa Jones to the roster for the 2024-25 season, head coach

Jones joins the Bobcats after spending the last two season at the University of Dayton. She previously spent the first two seasons of her collegiate career at Ohio State. At Dayton, Jones appeared in 59 games, made 43 starts and averaged 27.8 minutes per game. She recorded a total of 541 points, 288 rebounds, 52 assists and 55 steals in her two seasons with the Flyers. During the 2023-24 season, Jones shot 35 percent from the field, 70 percent from the line while averaging 8.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. As a junior, she was the only player to appear in all 28 games that season, tallied 277 points, averaged 9.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
While at Ohio State, Jones appeared in 15 games, was a two-time recipient of the Scholar Athlete Award and earned 2021-22 Academic All-Conference honors.
Prior to beginning her collegiate career, Jones was a four-year letterwinner at Westerville South High School. She earned First Team honors from 2018-2020 and was selected for the Second Team as a freshman.
Jones is the daughter of Bryant Jones and Marla Melendez-Jones and has two siblings, Leila and Xavier.
