ATHENS, Ohio – And just like that, it's final week in Athens! Ohio softball and track and field wrap up the regular season, while baseball heads to ACC territory this weekend. Check out everything that's ahead for Ohio Athletics in this week's Paw Prints.

Ohio softball (26-22, 14-8 MAC) concludes the 2024 regular season this week with five-straight games in Athens to close out the schedule leading into the MAC Tournament next week in Akron. Ohio opens the week on Tuesday, April 30 with a doubleheader against Akron (22-26, 10-11 MAC) scheduled to start at 1 p.m., with game two to follow 30 minutes later. Both game will be streamed on ESPN+. The Bobcats conclude the season with a three-game series against Bowling Green (6-34, 3-19 MAC) with a doubleheader on Saturday, May 4 starting at 1 p.m. at the Ohio Softball Field. The series concludes on Sunday, May 5 with a single game set for 12 p.m.
Sunday will serve as Senior Day for the Bobcats. Prior to the game, Ohio will honor

Alexis Dawe,
Annalia Paoli,
Yasmine Logan, Sydeny Grein and
Ellie Greene for their contributions to the Bobcats over the last four years.
Ohio is coming off a a 3-1 week that saw the Bobcats sweep the season series with Buffalo, moving Ohio to third in the MAC standings with one week to play.

Ohio baseball (14-25, 9-15 MAC) is back on the road for a non-conference road series this week when they head to Blacksburg, Va. for a three-game series with Virginia Tech (27-14). The series beginning on Saturday, May 4 with game one starting at 3 p.m. with game two to follow 45 minutes after game one. The two teams conclude the series on Sunday, May 5 with a single game set to start at 1 p.m. All three games will be played at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park and be seen on ACCNX.
Ohio is coming off a 3-1 week that saw the Bobcats take the three-game series against Toledo, winning game one on Friday and game three on Sunday afternoon.

TRACK AND FIELD

The Ohio track and field team concludes the outdoor regular season on Saturday, May 4 when the Bobcats head to Morgantown, W. Va. for the 2024 WVU Last Chance meet. The field events are set to begin at 10 a.m., with track events set to start at 3 p.m. at The Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park.
Ohio is coming off a solid showing at the Clark Wood Invitational hosted by Louisville. Graduate student
Carina Weaver led the Ohio women's track and field team on the final day of competition at the Clark Wood Invitational. Weaver placed third in the 3000m steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:42.88 and was one of three runner to break the stadium record. Junior
Taja Booker qualified for the women's 100m finals with a ninth-place finish and PR of 11.79 in the preliminaries. Booker placed eighth overall with a time of 11.92 in the finals.
