Women's Track & Field's Distance Group Records Impressive Performances at Brian Clay Invite

AZUSA, Calif. – A group of distance runners represented Ohio women's track and field with stellar performances at the Brian Clay Invitational on Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12.

THURSDAY, APRIL 11
Graduate student Carina Weaver (Lexington, Ohio) kicked off the meet for Ohio with a top 50 performance and time of 10:50.09 in the women's 3000m steeplechase.

For the first time in her collegiate career, junior Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) raced in the women's 10,000 meters. Harris placed 11^th with a time of 34:19.40.

FRIDAY, APRIL 12
On the second day of the distance carnival, three Bobcats competed in the women's 5000m. Sophomore Leila Boussedra (Worthington, Ohio) earned an impressive second-place finish in heat one of the event and ran a personal-best time of 16:31.48.

Sophomore Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) and freshman Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) represented Ohio in heat two of the women's 5000m. Mason took home 15^th in the event with a time of 16:44.60 and Martin finished 29^th with a time of 17:15.28.
