RALEIGH, N.C. – The Ohio women's track and field team concluded its second day of competition at the Raleigh Relays on Thursday, March 28.
The Bobcats competed in several running events but started the day with the women's discus. Senior
Jordan Baith (Seville, Ohio) led Ohio in the event, finishing 31
st in the event with a mark of 39.45 meters (129-5).
Freshman
Gracie Smith (Grove City, Ohio) kicked off the sprint and hurdle events with a personal-best time of 15.45 in the 100m hurdles. In the women's 100m, junior
Taja Booker (Simpsonville, S.C.) finished 23
rd with a time of 11.96 and sophomore
Rhiea Gordon (Youngstown, Ohio) ran a personal-best time of 12.23. Freshmen
Ella Baker (Amherst, Ohio; 58.49) and
Jada Irwin (Hamilton, Ohio; 58.70) raced in the women's 400m.
Sophomores
Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.),
Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) and
Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) competed in the women's 1500m for Ohio. Martin ran a time of 4:35.07, Doughman recorded a PR of 4:35.88 and Mason finished with a time of 4:41.33.
Graduate student
Carina Weaver (Lexington, Ohio) placed 29
th in the women's 3000m steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:43.77.
Junior
Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) led Ohio in the women's 5,000 meters with a time of 16:34.52 and finished in 50
th place.
The Bobcats will continue the weekend of competition at the Raleigh Relays and Olive Nikoloff Invite on Saturday, March 30.
