MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ohio baseball team (8-15, 4-7 MAC) fell 12-3 at Ball State (16-12, 4-7 MAC) on Friday, March 29.
Three different Bobcats scored for Ohio today. Redshirt junior
AJ Rausch (Powell, Ohio) tallied a home run, two RBI's and finished 1-for-3 at the plate. Fifth year
Alex Finney (Oxford, Mich.) went 1-for-2, senior
Gideon Antle (Licking, Mo.) went 1-for-4 and both players scored a run each. Junior
Jackson Cauthron (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) also recorded two hits on three at bats.
Graduate student
Tim Knapschaefer (Maria Stein, Ohio) started for Ohio on the mound. Knapschaefer allowed six hits, five runs and recorded to strikeouts in five innings pitched.
Ball State prevented Ohio from scoring until Rausch's two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning. Rausch's home run brought in Finney and himself, recording two RBI's and cutting the Cardinals' lead to 5-2. Ball State answered back with four runs in the bottom of the seventh and extended its lead to 9-2 over Ohio.
Ball State went on to win the game, 12-3.
