ATHENS, Ohio – Happy Spring Break Bobcats! It's officially MAC Tournament time for men's and women's basketball, and softball returns to Athens for the first time this season. Check out everything that's ahead for Ohio Athletics in this week's Paw Prints.

The No. 3 Ohio men's basketball team (19-12) opens play at the 2024 Mid-American Conference Tournament in Cleveland, Ohio starting on Thursday, March 14 against No. 6 Western Michigan (12-19) in the quarterfinals. Tip-off is set for 30 minutes following the conclusion of game three, which would be around 6:30 p.m.inside Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The game can be seen on ESPN+. With a win, Ohio would take on the winner of No. 2 Akron/ No. 7 Miami on Friday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m. on CBSSN, while the MAC Championship game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 on ESPN2.
Ohio and WMU met one time this season, with Ohio falling to the Broncos in early January in Kalamazoo.
Ohio is coming off a 2-0 week that extended the Bobcats' winning streak to six games. Graduate student guard

The No. 7 Ohio women's basketball team (11-18) makes their return to the MAC Tournament this week in Cleveland, Ohio, starting on Wednesday, March 13 against No. 2 Ball State (27-4). The Ohio men's golf team returns to action for two tournament this week. The Bobcats begin the week March 11-12 at the 2024 Ross Collegiate Classic hosted by George Mason at the Mid Pines Inn and Golf Course in Southern Pines, N.C. The two-day event begins on Monday, March 11 with 36 holes, before concluding the event on Tuesday, March 12 with 18 holes. Fans can follow the action on Clipped.
The Bobcats return to the course on Sunday, March 17 at The Indy at Boone's Trace National hosted by Eastern Kentucky. The one-day event will take place in Richmond, Ky. at the Gibson bay Golf Course.

Ohio freshman diver
Astrid Pichardo's season continues this weekend when she heads to the 2024 NCAA Zone C Diving Championships March 14-16. The three-day event is hosted by Louisville and will take place in Louisville, Ky. at the Ralph Wright Natatorium. Pichardo will participate in both the 1 and 3-meter dive events, after securing her NCAA Zone cuts in both events earlier this season.

SWIMMING

The Ohio swimming squad heads to Ocala, Fla. this week for the 2024 CSCAA National Invitational Championship March 14-16. The three-day event will take place at the Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training Center and will serice as the final postseason competition for those who did not qualify for NCAA Championships.
The Bobcats are coming off a third-place finish at the MAC Championships two weeks ago in Athens. This year's championships saw the Bobcats break a number of school record and earn individual MAC Championhips, while freshman
Zita Szoke qualified for NCAAs after her weekend of times.

Ohio softball (12-11, 0-0 MAC) finally returns to Athens after 23 games on the road on Tuesday, March 12 when the Bobcats host Marshall (13-11). First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at the Ohio Softball Field and can be seen on YouTube. The Bobcats then get back on the road to begin MAC play this weekend, starting on Friday, March 15 when Ohio heads to Muncie, Ind. to take on Ball State (13-13, 0-0 MAC). First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at the Softball Field at First Merchants Ballpark Complex. Ohio and the Cardinals conclude the three-game series on Saturday, March 16 with a doubleheader set to begin at 1 p.m.
Ohio is coming off their final nonconference tournament at the Beach Chicken Brawl in Conway, S.C. that saw Ohio earn a 4-2 win over George Mason On Sunday.

Ohio baseball (5-8,1-2 MAC) is back in action for four more games this week. The Bobcats return to the diamond on Tuesday, March 12 when they head to Morehead, Ky. to take on Morehead State (7-8). First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Allen Field and can be seen on ESPN+. The Bobcats return to Athens for three more MAC contests starting Friday, March 15 when Ohio hosts Kent State (7-8, 3-0 MAC) starting at 3 p.m. at Bob Wren Stadium. Ohio and the Flashes are back in action at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, before wrapping up the three-game series on Sunday, March 17 at 1 p.m. All three games will be streamed on YouTube.
Ohio is coming off a 2-2 week that saw the Bobcats pick up a thrilling win against Youngstown State, before splitting a doubleheader against NIU on Friday afternoon.
