ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio wrestling team (7-6) completed their regular season tonight (Feb. 24), falling to Buffalo. The Bulls had a strong advantage, winning 27-9 over the Bobcats. The loss gave Ohio their first of the year in the Convocation Center.
Seniors Jacob Padilla (Huber Heights, Ohio) and Sean O'Dwyer (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) celebrated their last meet in the Convocation Center. Unfortunately, the Bobcats were unable to send Padilla and O'Dwyer off with a senior night victory.
Redshirt sophomore Peyten Kellar (Cutler, Ohio) picked up the first win for Ohio with a 4-0 decision. Kellar improved to 18-2 on the year and completed an undefeated dual and MAC season. Kellar is expected to be the top-seed at 157 entering the MAC Championships.
Junior Sal Perrine (Northfield, Ohio) followed behind Kellar, taking a 2-1 decision for the Bobcats. Perrine and his opponent were in a tight battle all match long, but ultimately it was Perrine who was awarded a point via stalling to take the match.
To close out the night, senior Jordan Greer (Avon, Ohio) picked up the Bobcats third and final win of the meet. Greer had a strong performance, capitalizing on momentum from his dominant victory from a week prior, winning by way of a 5-1 decision.
