BOSTON – Four athletes competed for the Ohio women's track & field team as it kicked off the 2024 indoor season at Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Juniors
Leila Boussedra (Worthington, Ohio),
Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio),
Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) and senior
Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) represented Ohio in the women's 5,000 meters.
Boussedra, Mason and Harris all raced in heat five while Martin competed in heat seven.
Boussedra was Ohio's top finisher in the women's 5,000m. She placed 69
th overall and second in her heat with a personal-best time of 16:21.37. Harris and Martin also recorded personal-best performances in the event. Harris (16:32.12, PR) finished 91
st overall and 11
th in her respective heat. Martin (16:38.55, PR) finished 94
th overall and second in her heat. Mason ran a time of 16:53.75, finishing 111
th overall and 15
th in her heat.
The Bobcats will be back in action at the Falcon Early Bird Open on Friday, Jan. 10 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
