FORTH WORTH, Texas — Graduate student quarterback Parker Navarro has been named to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 list for Week 14 following his performance against the Ball State Cardinals. With an action-packed week 14 across the country, this week's list is a Davey Double, honoring 16 total quarterbacks.Â
Navarro (Tempe, Ariz.) led the Bobcats in their dominant 42-21 victory over the Cardinals Friday (Nov. 29). The graduate student finished the day with 169 passing yards, going 7-for-11 with three touchdowns in the air. Additionally, Navarro was the team's leading rusher, recording two touchdowns on 11 touches and 110 yards on the ground.Â
On the season, Navarro has thrown 10 touchdowns on 1,934 yards in the air. A force to be reckoned with on the ground, Navarro sits at 876 yards and 13 touchdowns.
The Davey O'Brien Foundation was created in 1977, and the National Quarterback Award, the oldest and most prestigious college quarterback award, was first issued in 1981. Over its time, the Davey O'Brien Foundation has given away more than $1.2 million in scholarships and university grants to help high school and college athletes transform leadership on the field into leadership in life.
