ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio women's soccer team had four student-athletes named to the 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team. The 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The organization announced today (Nov 19), among the student-athletes selected are junior Eve Berish, junior Maia Kaufman, junior Celeste Sloma and sophomore Jaimason Brooker.
Berish (Hudson, Ohio) is a marketing and business analytics major with a 3.90 GPA. Berish started all 20 games for the Bobcats this season. She recorded two goals and earned a spot on the All-MAC First Team for her outstanding performance as a pivotal midfielder for Ohio. In addition to her success on the field, Berish is the Vice President of Marketing for the Ohio Women in Business, which is the largest all-women organization on campus at Ohio University.
Kaufman (Westerville, Ohio) has a 3.98 GPA as a marketing and business analytics major. Kaufman played in and started all 20 games for Ohio, where she recorded one goal and one assist during the season and was a key player for the Bobcats. Kaufman was also awarded to the All-MAC Second Team for the 2024 season.
Sloma (Columbus, Ohio) is a business pre-law and finance major and has a 4.00 GPA. Sloma was a standout for Ohio during the 2024 season, playing in 1,755 minutes with 11 shutouts. The goalkeeper was selected to the All-MAC Second Team after being a leading athlete in the conference with a save percentage of 0.829%.
Brooker (Powell, Ohio) is studying biological sciences with a 3.97 GPA. Brooker was the leading goal scorer for the Bobcats, after starting and playing in all 20 games, she recorded 47 shots with 27 shots on goal with a 0.574 shot-on-goal percentage. With her efforts on the field, Brooker was awarded on the All-MAC First Team.
