ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio men's and women's cross country team will continue postseason competition at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 15 in Norton, Ohio. The women's 6k race is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. ET followed by the men's 10k race at 12 p.m. ET.
The top two teams from each regional meet and 13 at-large team selections will compete at nationals. Individual qualifications will include 36 auto qualifiers and two at-large bids. The top two teams in each regional championship secure automatic bids. The first four regional finishers not from an automatic qualifying or at-large team also secure an auto-bid to the championships. The top 25 finishers from each race will be awarded All-Region honors.
In the most recent Great Lakes Region poll, Wisconsin ranks first for the men and Notre Dame ranks first for the women. The Ohio women's team currently ranks sixth in the Great Lakes Region, the highest regional ranking in program history.
The Bobcats will face off with four programs that are currently ranked in the national coaches' poll: No. 9/14 Wisconsin (Men/Women), No. 19/6 Notre Dame (Men/ Women), No. 21 Butler (Men) and No. 27 Michigan State (Men/Women).
