ATHENS, Ohio— Seasoned television and radio broadcaster Jason Toy will be the play-by-play announcer for the 2024-25 Ohio men's basketball season, as announced today (Oct. 1) by Ohio Sports Properties and Ohio Director of Athletics Julie Cromer. Long-time color analyst Rob Cornelius will be reprising his role for the season.
In addition to his in-game responsibilities, Toy will host the weekly Jeff Boals Show this winter.
"We are excited to welcome Jason Toy to our broadcast team for men's basketball," said Cromer. "He is a veteran broadcaster with a wide range of experience and deep roots in our region. He will be a great addition to the talented individuals calling Bobcat games for our fans."
Since 1998, Toy has worked for the Motor Racing Network where he contributed to the national radio broadcast for NASCAR's Cup, Xfinity and Truck Series races and a play-by-play booth and turn announcer and has served as the lead pit reporter. He also hosts "NASCAR LIVE" weekly national radio talk show segment host.

Toy also works for Kindred Communications, Inc. with WXBW-FM & WDGG-FM / Kindred Digital Sports in Huntington, W. Va. and Gallipolis, Ohio. In this role, he serves as the WXBW-FM afternoon host, production & program director. He is also the radio and digital tv play-by-play for various sports including Marshall baseball, Marshall football & basketball pregame and postgame shows, high school football, men's & women's basketball, baseball and softball content.
He is also the radio and TV play-by-play for Appy League/Tri-State Coal Cats Baseball.
In the college basketball realm, Toy has worked with Marshall as a radio and ESPN+ play-by-play, color and sideline reporter, while also hosting various live events.

Toy is a four-time West Virginia Broadcasters Association Ranked Radio Sports Play-by-Play Award Winner and a two-time West Virginia AP Sports Play-by-Play Award Winner.
Born and raised in Tampa, Fla., Toy was a walk on Tight End on the 1992 National Championship Team at Marshall.
Toy and his wife Nancy have four children, Madelin, Spencer, Savannah & Ashley, and one granddaughter, Autumn.
The Ohio men's basketball team opens the 2024-25 season on Monday, Nov. 4 when they head to Harrisonburg, Va. to take on James Madison. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside Atlantic Union Bank Center.
