Ohio Track and Field Begins Action at MAC Outdoor Championships on Thursday

AKRON, Ohio – The Ohio track and field teams heads to Akron, Ohio for the 2023 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 11-13 at the Lee R. Jackson Track and Field Complex on the campus of Akron.
Competition on Thursday begins at 10 a.m. with the start of the women's heptathlon. Ohio will begin competition later in the day with the women's 1500m set to start at 5:25 p.m. On Friday, action starts once again at 10 a.m., with field events, followed by running events scheduled to start at 4:10 p.m. On Saturday, competition concludes with field events starting once again at 10 a.m., with running events starting at 1 p.m.
The awards ceremony will take place at the conclusion of action, approximately at 5 p.m.
Competing in the MAC on the women's side will be all 12 schools.
The Bobcats last saw action April 27-29 at the Drake Relays and the Mountaineer Twilight. At the Drake Relays, Sophomore Theresa Hagey (Akron, Ohio) made a strong debut in the 10000m as the champion, finishing in 34:53.10, running the fifth-fasted time in program history. Fifth year Stephanie Pierce (Fairborn, Ohio) ran a personal best of 4:28.10 in the mile. Meanwhile, at the Mountaineer Twilight, junior Imani Brown (Crown Point, Ind.) finished third in the 400m, clocking 58.39.
