BLOOMINGTON, Ind – The Ohio baseball team (15-19, 13-5 MAC) fell to the Indiana University Hoosiers (29-11, 9-3 BIG 10) today at Bart Kaufman Field, 17-2.
Redshirt sophomore Colin Kasperbauer (Sioux City, Iowa) and fifth year Will Sturek (Minnetonka, Minn.) each hit a solo home run as the Bobcats' only runs for the day.
Kasperbauer crushed a solo home run over the right field fence to put Ohio on the board in the top of the second. The Hoosiers quickly responded with four runs to go up 4-1 in the bottom of the inning. Indiana continued to hit well and grew their lead to nine runs entering the fifth.
The Bobcats began the sixth with a solo home run from Sturek, setting the score at 11-2. Indiana came right back with a solo home run and a two-run home run to go up 13-2. The Hoosiers scored four runs in the eighth, forcing Ohio to quickly search for some offense heading into the top of the ninth.
Up next, the Bobcats look to bounce back in the last game of the series tomorrow (April 23) for game three against the Hoosiers. First pitch is 12 p.m. ET.
