PAW PRINTS: The Week Ahead in Ohio Athletics

Athens, Ohio – It's MAC Championship time for women's golf, men's golf wraps up the regular season, baseball and track head to Big Ten hosts for the weekend and it's the return of the Catspy's! Check out that and what else ahead for Ohio Athletics in this week's Paw Prints. 

WOMEN'S GOLF
April 21-23 / Mid-American Conference Championships / Kalamazoo, Mich. / Kalamazoo Country Club / All Day / Championship CentralLive Results 

The Ohio women's golf team heads to Kalamazoo, Mich. for the 2023 Mid-American Conference Championships hosted by Western Michigan. The three-day event will take place April 21-23 at the Kalamazoo Country Club. The teams will play 18 holes each day, with a champion crowned Sunday afternoon. 

Competing in the championships are: Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan.

The Ohio men's golf team wraps up the 2022-23 regular season this week with two events. The Bobcats begin the week April 17-18 at the 2023 RedHawk Intercollegiate hosted by Miami in Pittsburgh, Pa. at the 6,827-yard Pittsburgh Field Club. The two-day 54-hole event begins on Monday with 36 holes, before wrapping up with the third and final round on Tuesday with 18 holes. Par is set at 71. 

Competing in the tournament is Miami, Minnesota, Marquette, Bowling Green, Bucknell, Dayton, EKU, George Washington, Loyola Maryland, North Dakota State, Oakland, Richmond. Ohio and Toledo. 

For the Bobcats, Sam Hogan, Matt Daulton, Will Kates, Carson Trafford and Sheil Iyer will compete. 

Ohio concludes the regular season April 21-23 at the 2023 Robert Kepler Invitational in Columbus. The three-day event will take place at the Scarlet Course on the campus of Ohio State.

This Ohio baseball team (15-17, 13-5 MAC) are back in action this weekend for a nonconference trip to Bloomington, Ind. to take on Big Ten opponent Indiana (25-11). The Bobcats open the weekend on Friday, April 21 at 6 p.m., before returning to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. and on Sunday at noon. All three games will take place at Bart Kaufman Field and will be streamed on BTN+. 

The Bobcats are coming off a series win over Miami in Athens this past weekend, which included two come-from behind victories.

Ohio track and field is back in action this weekend when they head to Columbus, Ohio to compete in the 2023 Jesse Owens Classic April 21-22 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of Ohio State. Competition on Friday begins at 1 p.m., while events on Saturday will start at 11 a.m. 

The Bobcats are coming off a successful weekend hosting the Cherry Blossom Invitational in Athens. 

CATSPY'S
After a few year hiatus, the Catspy's return to Ohio! This year's event will take place April 23 at Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium. The celebration is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
