Ohio Women's Basketball Places Two on All-MAC Teams

ATHENS, OH.–
Two players for the Ohio Bobcats earned Mid-American Conference postseason honors, the conference announced today (March 7). Sophomore Yaya Felder (Hartford, CT) has been named to the All-MAC Second-Team, while Freshman Jaya McClure (Louisville, KY) earned MAC All-Freshman Team. 

Yaya Felder ends the regular season leading the Mid-American Conference in scoring with 638 points, averaging 22 a game, coming out All-MAC Second-Team. Felder sits in first after securing double figures in scoring 26 times this season, and hitting her career high of 40 points in a singular game. Felder finished out shooting 45.4% from the field, 35% from the three, and 77% from the line. Felder also led the Bobcats in rebounds for the 2022-23 season totaling 148, 117 defensive and 31 offensive, averaging 5 a game. Felder also snagged 64 steals, and 115 assists. Overall, Yaya Felder had a record season, reaching many career highs and driving the Bobcats on the offense. 

Ohio's Jaya McClure came to the Bobcats this year as a true freshman, proving to be an offensive threat in the conference, earning a spot on the MAC All-Freshman Team. McClure collected 209 points this season, reaching double figures in scoring 9 times over her 26 games played. McClure sits in second for Ohio in scoring, going 31.5% from the field, 21% from the three, and 73.4% from the line. She also stands in second for the Bobcats in assists, collecting 71. After several injuries for the Bobcats, Jaya stepped up as a freshman, leading the team in scoring for several games throughout the season.
