RALEIGH, N.C. – The Ohio track and field team competed at the Raleigh Relays this past week (March 23-25), continuing its outdoor season. The meet was hosted by North Caroline State inside the Paul Derr Track and Field Facility.
In the 100m, freshman Josie Knierim (McConnelsville, Ohio) clocked a 12.41, while red shirt senior Taniah Stephens (Erie, Pa.) posted 12.58. Stephens grabbed a time of 25.57 in the 200m, with Knierim just behind at 25.58.
Fifth year Stephanie Pierce (Fairborn, Ohio) led the Bobcats in the 1500m with a time of 4:34.12. Senior Alyssa Christian (Newark, Ohio) and fifth year Madelyn Bartolone (Massillon, Ohio) followed with a 4:39.65 and 4:55.95. Pierce and Christian also competed in the 800m, finishing in 2:12.62 and 2:17.84.
In the 5000m, freshman Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) recorded 17:12.70. Sophomore Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) was close behind with a 17:15.09, while sophomore Theresa Hagey (Akron, Ohio) finished in 17:28.10.
Senior Carina Weaver (Lexington, Ohio) competed in the 3000m steeple coming in at 11:07.51.
In the field events, fifth year Autumn Mohan (Chillicothe, Ohio) and sophomore Millie Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) recorded season best throws of 12.74m and 11.72m in the shot put. In the discus, Mohan threw 40.61m, while Ryan notched season best 37.34m. Mohan also competed in the hammer, throwing 44.33m.
Up next, Ohio will compete in the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, hosted by the University of Cincinnati on March 31-April 1.
