ATHENS, Ohio— The Ohio wrestling team is set to travel to Fairfax, Va. for the 2023 Mid-American Conference Wrestling Championships from March 3-4. The two-day event is set to take place at the EagleBank Arena on George Mason's campus. Mats two, three and four will be streamed on getsomemaction.com both days; mat one, the championship semifinals and finals can be watched live on ESPN+.
The opening round is scheduled to start at noon on Friday, March 3, with the championship quarterfinals and consolation round one following at 2 p.m. The day will end with the championship semifinals and consolation round two at 5 p.m.
Day two opens with the consolation quarterfinals at 11:30 a.m., following by the consolation semifinals at 1 p.m. The championship finals will start at 3 p.m. on ESPN+ at 3 p.m.
Ohio finished the 2022 MAC Wrestling Championships ninth overall with 61.5 points. Six Bobcats placed, with sophomore
Sal Perrine (Northfield, Ohio) and redshirt junior
Jordan Slivka (Indianapolis, Ind.) earning at-large bids to the 2022 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in Detroit, Mich.
